A Diary of a WEdding Photographer in Malaysia by Kid Chan

Dear friends,

I am drafting this entry aboard my flight from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur (with Pen & paper of course and not any electronic device), which I have returned with some images that I am very proud with of my recent UK wedding couple Dr. Pauline & Jack at the Four Seasons Langkawi.

So, why the title?Why only TRUE Friends will…? Why so EMO? Well, before i boarded the plane, I manage to check the votes on my nomination for BEST PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG at the Blogger Choice Awards. I am very touch that blog manage to garner 45 votes (did i hear someone say ONLY?) in less that 6 Days to date !!!

For starters the 45 votes qualify me as the TOP 10 contenders for the award in the world.

Secondly, I know the trouble of you guys having to spend at least 5 MINUTES of YOUR LIFE to:

1) Set up an account (Date of Birth & SEX field is a must!)

2) Retrive your passwords (CAUTION: the passoword mail is VERY likely to end Up in SPAMBOX)

3) Re-Login to VOTE for ME!

Seriously if you have voted and you are standing right in front of me I want to give you a BIG FAT HUG!

Helo!

I dont even know how to start this post. I am so excited now. YES! I am going to be a daddy again in the next few days.

Today Shirlyn and I visited Dr. Tang Boon Nee(LADIES-this lady is GREAT!) in SJMC.lo and Behold! Shirlyn is 2cm dilated.

For those who are not daddy and mummy yet, you can read all about dilation here. So she suggested that we go in on Friday. However, it depends if baby is rushing to see light:) If she is, it might be tomorrow or the day after. Somehow, this time round i am more nervous. Just dont know why. Shirlyn have also given me a long to do list. Including packing the STEMLIFE kit , new bathing sponge + buying a gift for Faith. We would told the last task is to minimise Faith’s jeolousy by telling her that her little sister loves her a lot and want to give a pressie.

I Want to get faith a PINK bicycle? What do you think? Any better suggestions? I like to apologize for some of the invitation of open houses that i will and have already missed in welcoming the baby. I know you all will understand:)

More updates soon. Will try to calm myslef and get some sleep:)

Dear All,

This video was shot during a visit to a "Mamak" or "Ma-Pleh" called Devi in the neigbourhood.

For
the benefit of my international friends, Wikipedia defines Mamak -
"Mamak (Indian Muslims) dishes have developed a distinctly Malaysian
style. Available throughout the country, the omnipresent Mamak stalls
or restaurants are particularly popular among the locals as they offer
a wide range of food and some outlets are open 24 hours a day. They’re
fast, economical and perfect as a meeting place for a drink and snacks"

The scene that greeted me at Devi’s was this:

As
i walk in to Devi’s, i was greeted with a smile from a friendly Malay
couple. Then I saw the Indian workers serving a group of international
students. As i walk on, i saw a Caucasian family enjoying their teh
tarik and roti canai.

They
were Chinese background music and Lunar New Year decorations as we know
the Chinese Community will be celebrating the Chinese New Year this
weekend.

This scene at Devi’s that really reminded me how proud
I am to be a Malaysian living in a truly multi-racial Malaysia. Please
excuse the video, if it seems a bit rushed, memory card was very low.

Gong Xi Fatt Chai to all and may the Lunar New Year brings the Nation prosperity in abundance!

Studio,

Greetings! I have recently came to
knowledge that certain photographers/
videographers that try to market
themselves by passing of as past or
present staffs of Kid Chan Studio.

This came to our knowledge, when a few
of our potential brides were approach by
this group of photographers. Upon
initial contact there was no suspicion.
However, the cat is out of the back when
they found that the actual work of these
photographers is NOT ACCEPTABLE by
professional standards.
Being firm followers of the studio, they
have decided to check the claims.

While this group have no previous record
of employment/contract, these claims are
not only ridiculous- they are outright
dishonest.

However, there may be some bona fide
cases where some of our photographers
that has leave us for a career on their
own. So it is PRUDENT to check with Kid
Chan Studio (Tel: 012 215 9933) if such
claims are true, to avoid being SCAM.
